There is nothing new about drinking from aluminium cans with a protective coating, coca cola introduced coke in aluminium cans in the 1960s. ABV% is far less an important factor than high acidity / aggressive PH levels and coke is very acidic - with a PH of around 2.5 - but has been consumed for 7 decades now.

aluminis also have an internal coating sprayed on during manufacture to prevent any risk of contamination from metal into the liquid.  It's a food grade, BPA-free polyster-based coating containing no epoxy resin or novolac resin.

The coating is thinner than a human hair, and burns off during recycling so doesn't affect recyclability

We have laboratory tested many spirits in the bottles - with ABV's from 30% to 60% - and this "migration testing" has confirmed no leaching into the liquid and no erosion in the coating when measured under microscope. Our manufacturer warrants this coating for 2 years.

Due to the polyester coating aluminis are 99% plastic free, but not 100% plastic free so we make no claims to be plastic free.
